Sea-Tac Airport outreach oppty: Little Free Libraries

By Cindy Safronoff

Next time you fly, bring some Christian Science books to leave at the airport in the Little Free Libraries at Sea-Tac and beyond. The Seattle-Tacoma Airport has two free literature boxes: one for adults, and one for children. Both boxes are in the secure area on the way to the gates. Here’s some photos to help you find them. Please pass this info on and encourage a local habit of always packing CS books in your luggage for the airport boxes.

Adults: box by Train to S Gates Concourse

The Little Free Library for adults is at the top of the escalator going down to the South Gate trains.

This is a good place to leave copies of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, biographies on Mary Baker Eddy, CS Monitor Weekly issues, and anything else you feel inspired to share.

Kids Books box near B Gates Concourse

The Little Free Library for children is outside the kids play area near the B Gates exit to the main terminal, next to the QDoba mexican restaurant. This one is easy to miss, because it is partially blocked from the view of passers-by by a big white column. When heading out of the gates to baggage claim, it’s to the right of the B Gates exit.

This is a good place to leave kids books of Bible stories like Noah & the Ark, Daniel in the Lion’s Den, Mary Baker Eddy biography A World More Bright, and anything else you feel inspired to share.

Airports beyond Sea-Tac

We have found used book sharing boxes or shelves in airports in other areas. Here’s one in the Latvia airport in Eastern Europe. Too bad I didn’t have extra copies of CS books with me at the time I passed through. It was a good reminder to always take CS literature to share. I decided then to take photos to share, to raise awareness about airport outreach opportunities.

Let us know how and when you share Christian Science literature in your travels or in daily living. We all need more examples of literature outreach to open our eyes to opportunities all around.
